New SIU President Dunn to Start Next Month

Southern Illinois University officials say the school's incoming president will begin work May 1.
 
The (Carbondale) Southern Illinoisan reports Randy Dunn's start date is about two months earlier than what was initially expected.
 
His early arrival means retiring president Glenn Poshard will also step down next month.
 
Dunn had been set to start work July 1, the day after Poshard's retirement.
 
Dunn left his position as president of Youngstown State University last month.
 
Dunn was chairman of SIU-Carbondale's education administration department in 2004 when he took leave to serve as state superintendent of Illinois' public schools.
