The Ohio River at Paducah is forecast to maintain its current level and not reach the major flood level during the coming week.

Paducah's river gauge on Saturday morning was at 46.46 feet at the riverfront, and is expected to crest at about 47 feet by midweek. Paducah's first floodwall gate is usually installed at 49.5 feet, and major flooding occurs at 52 feet.

Moderate flooding is also taking place on the Ohio at Cairo and Ballard County, with a Saturday reading of 51.05 feet. Crest is expected at 52 feet, then will fall slowly after Thursday.

At the Smithland dam, minor flooding is occurring with a level of 45.82 feet Saturday morning, and a midweek crest expected at 46 feet.

Golconda is under minor flooding at 47.83 feet on Saturday. By Tuesday evening the Ohio could crest at 49.2 feet, which is also just above the threshold for moderate flooding to occur.
