Police Arrest Two Metropolis Burglary Suspects

METROPOLIS, IL - Two men have been arrested after two Metropolis homes were burglarized on Sunday.
 
Police received a call reporting a burglary at around 4 a.m. Sunday. The caller told police that two men were breaking into a shed on East Third Street.  One of the men fled when a neighbor yelled at him, and later returned and got into a silver car. According to police, an officer saw a silver car in an alley and arrested 28-year-old Joshua A. York, of Benton, after finding stolen items inside his car.
 
Police identified the other man with York as 22-year-old Jacob D. Hall, of Metropolis. Hall was arrested at at a home on East Third Street. Police also found stolen items from an earlier burglary. Both men were charged with two counts of burglary and theft.
 
They were taken to the Massac County Detention Center.
