Police Investigate Cairo Shooting, Two Injured

An investigation is underway after a shooting early Friday morning in Cairo.

Cairo Police Chief Arnold Burris told KFVS-TV the shooting happened at 1:14 am in the street near the intersection of Sycamore and 24th Streets. 

According to police, two people were taken to a local hospital for treament. 29-year-old Keyvaire Childress was reportedly shot multiple times and is in stable but guarded condition after being taken to a St. Louis hospital. 25-year-old Chambrae Woods was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the leg. 

Burris didn't name any suspects, but did say they had a person of interest.
