METROPOLIS - A Massac County man was arrested Saturday after he reportedly led police in a pursuit while riding a bicycle.
According to the Metropolis Police Department, an officer spotted 32-year-old Joshua M.O. Davis riding a bike at the intersection of Metropolis and East 15th Streets, and knew there was a warrant for his arrest. The officer signaled for Davis to stop, but he didn't, and led police on a pursuit for several blocks. Davis then jumped off the bike and ran into some nearby woods.
Police say a perimeter was set up and Davis was found and arrested after a brief struggle by a Massac County Sheriff's Deputy.
Davis was charged with the Massac County warrant for possession of methamphetatmine and for resisting arrest. He was taken to the Massac County Detention Center.
