As the old saying goes, the creek's up.  The Ohio River in Downtown Paducah is beginning to look more like a lake, with the latest river levels (8am, Friday) at 35.08 feet. That's up nearly 6 inches in just 6 hours.

The official forecast from the National Weather Service in Paducah has the river continuing to rise into next week.  Already, the water has covered most of the areas in Downtown Paducah where spectators view the fireworks display, but the official forecast does not call for the stage to be covered with flood water by Saturday evening.

All-in-all, the weather forecast for setting off the fireworks across the region will be excellent.  Overnight lows Saturday night are expected to dip into the 60s with a light breeze, a rare treat for this time of year.  The high on Saturday isn't supposed to break out of the lower 80s with a predominately mostly cloudy sky.

Downtown Paducah will be abuzz with activity starting at around 4 pm Saturday afternoon.  You can click on the link below for a complete list of fireworks displays and other activities.
