Two finalists to become chancellor of Southern Illinois  University's Carbondale campus are scheduled to meet with the school's board of  trustees next week.

WSIU radio reports that SIUC acting provost and Vice  Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan Ford, and Oregon State University provost Sabah Randhawa will be on campus  next week.

SIU president Randy Dunn says introducing candidates to the trustees is the  last step in the hiring process. Dunn hopes the campus has a new chancellor this  summer or early fall.

Dunn has been serving as the campus' overseer since interim chancellor Paul  Sarvela died of cancer in November.
