CARBONDALE, IL - Students at SUI-Carbondale will have a chance to meet the three candidates for U.S. House of Representatives in southern Illinois' 12th District.
The SIU Saluki Times reports that the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute is hosting three "Pizza and Politics" sessions with the candidates for the seat that Rep. Jerry Costello is vacating as he retires. Each session will be held at the Institute's lobby in the old U.S. Forestry Building on Lincoln Drive.
On Thursday, August 30, Democrat William Enyart of Belleville will meet with students at noon. Republican Jason Plummer of O'Fallon will be available on September 13 at 5:00 pm, and Carbondale's Paula Bradshaw, representing the Green Party, will meet students at 5:00 pm on Sept. 18.
The event is free, but the Institute is asking that attendees pre-register by calling 618-453-4078 or sending an email to cgreenlee@siu.edu .
