SIU Students Return to Dorms After Bomb Threat

CARBONDALE, IL - Carbondale police are investigating a late night bomb threat on the campus of Southern Illinois University at a student residence hall.
According to a press release, the Brush Towers residence halls were evacuated at around 11:30 Thursday evening due to a bomb threat that was received. Students were directed to the campus Recreation Center, Student Center and Morris Library while the towers were inspected by campus police and K9 bomb sniffing dogs.
After the inspection was completed, the area was deemed safe and students were allowed to return to their rooms.
