Scammers Pretending to be from Firefighters Union

Another scam has been reported - this one in southern Illinois.

The local Metropolis Firefighters union posted on their Facebook page Monday saying that people are reportedly getting phone calls from someone asking for donations to the local firefighters association. The union says they are not soliciting money in any way, and that these callers are scam artists. 

The union says their only ongoing fundraiser is their "hog wild" raffle, where two winners will be drawn on December 31 and win half of a hog.

The social media post says, "With the holiday season upon us, scammers are trying all they can do to get your hard earned money. Please be aware."
