A Minnesota man was arrested Thursday morning on drug charges, after police say they found a semi driver passed out behind the wheel off Interstate 24.

At around 10:00 am Thursday a trucking company from Minnesota called the Massac County Sheriffs Office requesting a deputy do a safety check on one of their semi's that was parked at I-24 exit 27. The company had been trying to contact the driver but could not get an answer.

Police said that when the deputy arrived he looked in the cab and saw the driver, 34-year-old Scott Webeck, of Minnesota was passed out behind the wheel with a meth pipe in his lap. During a search, meth, pipes, and other controlled substances were reportedly found.

Webeck was arrested and charged with 2 counts of possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. He was being held without bond pending a court appearance.

Police said the owners of the semi had to fly from Minnesota into Barkley field Thursday afternoon to retrieve it.
