The Massac County Sheriff's Office is asking for help in solving some recent burglaries.

The department received reports of break-ins at three homes. On Airport Road, a homeowner returned from out-of-town and discovered that burglars went through the home searching for items to take. On Orchard Road, burglars entered and took a firearm. The third Burglary happened on Powers Church Road, where someone took guns and a change jar with a large amount of assorted coins.

The homes on Orchard and Powers Church Road belonged to elderly people who had recently passed away, and the Sheriff's Department says the burglars were looking for guns, medication, jewelry and loose change. Investigators believe all three crimes are related. The Sheriff's office also received a report of a vehicle burglary on Crestwood Road, where electronics, cash and medication were stolen.

All of these burglaries happened in the late-night or early-morning hours.

The Sheriff's Department says if anyone sees suspicious people or vehicles late at night or early in the morning, they should contact the Massac County Sheriff's Office at 618-524-2912 or through their TIPS page at the link below.
