GOREVILLE, IL - Eastbound lanes of I-24 were restricted to one lane briefly Thursday morning because of a single-vehicle accident.

Illinois State Police report that 29-year-old Andrew Herrin of Alton, IL lost control of his SUV about 10:45 am, and ran into the median, striking a tree. The accident happened near the 10-mile marker, between the Vienna and Goreville exits.

The vehicle had to be towed, and the inside eastbound lane was closed for about 20 minutes. Troopers did not indicate if Herrin was injured.
