A disturbance Friday led to the arrest of two people in Metropolis.

When Metropolis police responded to the call in the 300 block of Oak Drive, they found 25-year-old Desiree D. Hurt of Metropolis sitting in the street. She told them she had been arguing. While they were talking to her, a man identified as 18-year-old Trenton Morrison of Metropolis walked toward her in an aggressive manner, yelling at her with his fists clenched.

Hurt ran into a home and went into the bathroom. This made Morrison more agitated, and police say he demanded she be removed from the house. Police went into the home and tried to convince Hurt to come out, but she refused.

Police learned there was a Massac County warrant for her arrest, so she was taken into custody. As Hurt was being taken to a police car, Morrison came after her again, and officers moved to stop him. Morrison scuffled with officers and they had to use a Taser before he could be arrested.

A search revealed four Xanax pills in Morrison's pocket. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, along with obstructing justice, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Hurt was charged with the warrant for failure to appear on drug charges, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
