A Friday morning crash on I-24 left two people injured, and one charged with DUI.

Illinois State Police said a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Timothy Donovan, of St. Peters, MO got onto I-24 East from US-45 at 5:45 am in Massac County going the wrong direction. Donovan collided head on with another vehicle, and then that vehicle rolled over and hit a semi. 

Donovan and the driver of another vehicle in the crash who has not been identified were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. Police charged Donovan with DUI, driving without a license, driving the wrong way, and no valid registration.

Traffic on I-24 was restricted for several hours after the crash.
