Union, Massac Counties To See DUI Checks in August
By WestKyStar Staff
ULLIN, IL - Illinois State Police District 22 will conduct Roadside Safety Checks (RSC) in Union and Massac Counties during August, according to Captain Thomas Stehley, District 13/22 Commander. This will coincide with Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) patrols in those counties, too.

The ISP has zero tolerance for impaired driving in Illinois. Officers working this detail will be conducting saturation patrols, and will be watchful for drivers who are operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, transporting open alcoholic beverages, or driving under the influence.

Alcohol and drug impairment is a significant factor in over 40 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois. These efforts are designed to keep roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road. This project is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.
