BENTON, IL - A southern Illinois woman accused of causing a deadly car wreck has pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless homicide and aggravated drunken driving.
WSIL-TV reports 31-year-old Tabitha Weeks of rural Benton entered the pleas during her first appearance Tuesday in Franklin County Circuit Court.
Authorities say Weeks' car crossed into the oncoming path of a family's minivan last month, killing that vehicle's 41-year-old driver, Craig Payne of Bonnie, and injuring several other occupants.
Weeks is free on $75,000 bond and scheduled to next appear in court Sept. 13.
