Accidental Shooting Leaves Child Hospitalized

An accidental shooting in Trigg County Tuesday night left a two-year-old child hospitalized.

According to Kentucky State Police, the shooting happened around 9:15 pm at the home of David Southwick. Police said the child suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was initially transported to Trigg County Hospital. After being stabilized, the child was later transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with non life-threatening injuries.

State police said the shooting appears to be accidental and the investigation continues.
