After School Meals Available for Graves Students
By West Kentucky Star Staff
GRAVES COUNTY - After school meals will be available to many Graves County students this year.

It's called the Child Care Food Program and it's distributed through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Shelina McClain, School Nutrition Director for Graves County Schools, says the after school meals will be available to students at several schools within the district, at no charge.

“Students are able to participate if they're in activities such as Y's Guys, sports, clubs or any activity or club affiliated with Graves County Schools or YMCA's Y's Guys,” McClain said.

The meals will be served to enrolled participants at five elementary schools in Graves County - Central, Fancy Farm, Farmington, Sedalia and Wingo and also at Graves County High School. McClain says the meals will be served at the end of each school day.

“Students can go into the cafeteria, where there will be an adult that will administer the meal to them,” McClain said. “They can go ahead and consume the meal there, or they can take it with them to their tutoring class or sporting activity and eat it there.”
