AURORA, KY - The 35TH Annual Aurora Country Festival 2012 will be held Friday through Sunday, October 5-7 from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm each day. The event will be at Kenlake State Park in downtown Aurora.
The festival is hosted annually by the Jonathan Aurora Action Committee, a non-profit organization of local business owners and community leaders.
Aurora-Ross Fire Chief Ricky Sirls is Grand Marshall of the parade this year, and the theme of the parade is a salute to first responders. Santa will also make an early appearance in the parade again this year, which is scheduled for Saturday at 11:00 am.
“We are hoping for an awesome turnout of First Responders from Marshall County to be in our parade,” says J.W. Davis, festival chairman and Secretary of JAAC.
The new Aurora-Ross Fire Department will be open from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm for those who would like a tour. Organizers are also hoping to have the PHI air Medical Helicopter and its crew at the festival.
Other events include an Antique Car Show, Auction, Live Music, two major flea markets and vendor areas at the Aurora Visitor Center and the Kenlake Music Barn Stage across the street from the Brass Lantern Restaurant and next to the Hitching Post General Store. There are also many other vendors spread thru-out the community. You can see a complete list of performers and participants at the festival website at www.aurorajonathancreek.com.
There are also Sorghum and Honey Sales at the Sorghum House at the Visitor Center, Games, Kids Rides, Craft Fair, Concessions and much more!
Parking is available at the Aurora Visitor Center (next to St. Henry Catholic Church) and Kenlake Music Stage and Barn (across from the Brass Lantern).
