Benton Man Arrested on Burglary, Alcohol Charges

A Marshall County man faces charges after he allegedly broke into a home and threatened two men with a knife.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to Tubbs Road early Friday morning in reference to a disturbance complaint. Upon arrival, officers spoke to two men who reported that a man had forced his way into the home and threatened them with a knife.

Deputies found the suspect, 30-year-old Derek J. Darnall of Benton, in a nearby yard. Deputies said Darnall appeared to be intoxicated, and had a knife.

Darnall was arrested and charged with 1st degree burglary and alcohol intoxication. He was booked into the Marshall County Detention Center.
