A Marshall County man and woman were arrested over the weekend on drug and endangerment charges.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says a deputy went to a home on Way Avenue in Benton on Saturday for a welfare check on 26-year-old Morgan Vaughn. The sheriff's office had received information that drug use was taking place inside the home in the presence of Vaughn's two-year-old son.

Vaughn answered the door but wouldn't allow the deputy to come inside. The deputy obtained a search warrant for the home, where he allegedly found heroin, a crushed up pill believed to be klonopin and several items of drug paraphernalia.

Vaughn and the child's father, 29-year-old Cameron White of Benton, were both arrested on charges of possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor. Vaughn was additionally charged with possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified).

The child was not at the home on Saturday and is staying with a family member.
