Benton Woman Killed in Scott County Collision

A Marshall County woman was killed Friday evening in a crash in Scott County. 

According to the Scott County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened about 5:00 pm on Paris Pike east of Georgetown. Deputies say when they arrived, the driver of one vehicle was deceased. Multiple media sources say that driver was 37-year-old Margaret Morgan of Benton. 

The Sheriff's Department investigation showed that Morgan's vehicle was eastbound on Paris Pike when she apparently lost control, and it veered into the westbound lane. Her vehicle collided head-on with a box truck driven by 74-year-old Harold Morgan, Jr. of Cincinnati. He was reportedly not injured in the collision.

Both drivers were the only people in their vehicles, and deputies do not believe alcohol or drugs were contributing factors in the crash. 

Paris Pike was closed for about 3-1/2 hours after the crash.
