Beshear 'Economic Announcement' in Fulton Today
By WestKyStar Staff
FULTON, KY - Governor Steve Beshear will visit Fulton this morning to make an economic development announcement, which could be good news for the local workforce.

The announcement is scheduled for 10:30 am at the Pontotoc Community Center.

There is expectation that the governor's visit means a new German auto parts company is moving to the area.

Earlier this week, the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development granted preliminary approval for an incentives package to allow Kayser Automotive Systems to construct a $17.5 million plant in Fulton County. The new facility could create more than 120 new jobs in an area with a 16 percent unemployment rate.

The jobs would reportedly pay about $17 an hour.

Beshear will be joined by Fulton County Judge-Executive David Gallagher, Fulton Mayor Elaine Forrester, and Eddie Crittendon, Executive Director of the Fulton-Hickman County Economic Development Partnership.
