The Cave-In-Rock Ferry halted operations at 6 p.m. Tuesday due to rising floodwaters on the Ohio River.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the ferry will likely be closed at least through Feb. 24, possibly longer if there is additional substantial rainfall across the Ohio River Valley.

Over the weekend the Dorena-Hickman Ferry closed because of rising waters on the Mississippi River. It will also stay closed indefinitely until the water level recedes at the landing.
