A Gilbertsville man now faces several charges, including wanton endangerment, in connection to a two-vehicle accident earlier this year in Marshall County that left two people with severe injuries.

Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday arrested 24-year-old Cory Burkeen on an arrest warrant from Marshall District Court. Burkeen was the driver of the vehicle that hit another vehicle occupied by Lake McGregor, Maggie Adams, Shane McKenty and Landon Lovett on May 28. Both Lovett and McKenty sustained life-threatening injuries.

According to the sheriff’s department, toxicology reports came back with evidence resulting in Burkeen’s arrest on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, four counts of wanton endangerment and two counts of assault.

Burkeen was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
