According to the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office, on Thursday officers received a tip indicating that 39-year-old Anthony Mathis, a registered sex offender, may not have been in compliance with the sex offender registration law.
Mathis had reported that he lived at an address on State Route 1372, however the investigation revealed that Mathis was actually living on a family member's property in a camper.
Mathis was arrested for failure to comply with the sex offender registry and was taken to the Ballard County Jail. Deputies say more charges are anticipated once the office of Probation and Parole completes their investigation.
