Cherry to Challenge Reed for School Board Seat
By WestKyStar Staff
CUBA, KY - Graves County School Board member Donnie Reed will have competition in the November election. Josh Cherry filed this week as a write-in candidate in District 2.
Cherry said he’s running because he wants to make sure every child in Graves County is given the best education possible. He said he’s against the closing of Cuba Elementary School, something the Board is considering because of declining enrollment and cuts in state funding. He said smaller class sizes means more one-one-one learning for students.
Cherry, a 1997 graduate of Graves County High School, is self-employed. He and his wife, Allison, have two children and reside in Cuba.
