PADUCAH, KY - The mother of 3-year-old Braydion Matlock spoke during a fundraiser for the family Monday afternoon saying through tears that she did not want her son's death to become part of a gun control debate.
Braydion was killed in an accidental shooting at his Paducah home Saturday evening. The boyfriend of the child's mother has been charged with 2nd-degree manslaughter after admitting he accidentally shot the child.
During a fundraiser Monday at Chick-fil-A, Braydion's mother said the shooting was an accident.
His grandfather walked from table to table, thanking those participating in the fundraiser, and agreed that the shooting was accidental.
