CARLISLE COUNTY - A Clinton man was arrested after a chase through Bardwell on Thursday.

According to the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office, deputies spotted a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed through Bardwell. The driver was reportedly identified as 28-year-old Dakota Drew.

Carlisle County Sheriff Will Gilbert attempted to stop Drew, but he reportedly drove through several residential streets until he reached US 51 and headed south towards Arlington.

His vehicle was slowed by traffic, so he pulled into a farm. He reportedly left his vehicle and ran towards a barn on the property when Gilbert ordered him to get on the ground. Drew allegedly refused to comply and resisted arrest. Gilbert says he then used a taser on Drew and he immediately complied.

According to Gilbert, after a search he found marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a rifle.

Drew was lodged in the Ballard County Jail.

He is being charged with first degree fleeing and evading police, resisting arrest, first degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, wanton endangerment, reckless driving, and drug paraphernalia.
