The group stayed at Brandon Spring Group Center and did work in heritage, at the 1850 Homeplace and at the Woodlands Nature Station. They also toured the 170,000 acre National Recreation Area.
Emily Cleaver, Volunteer Coordinator for the Friends group, said "We have had four college groups visit this year and they contributed over 2000 volunteer hours. They are so much fun to have and we are appreciative of their time and hard work."
Local volunteers generated an additional 9,000 hours of labor to the efforts of the Friends of Land Between the Lakes this year. Cleaver said "Volunteering takes many forms, from shoreline cleanup to the Bugle Corps and everything in between. If you have a desire to help, we can find you a place."
