Collision at Intersection Injures One Driver

WINGO - A two-vehicle collision Saturday afternoon in Graves County injured one person.

The Graves County Sheriff's Department responded at 4:20 pm to the intersection of Wingo Road and Kentucky Highway 2422. Their investigation at the scene determined that 45-year-old Candice Slater of Wingo ran a stop sign and struck a vehicle driven by 71-year-old Bennett Trent of Water Valley. Trent's vehicle went into a ditch and overturned, and he had to freed from the vehicle by Mayfield Graves County EMS and the Water Valley Fire Department. 

Trent was taken to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Slater and a passenger in Trent's vehicle refused medical treatment at the scene.
