A Carlisle County man charged with murder in the 2015 death of a 95-year-old woman has entered a plea and received his sentence.

According to the Graves County Circuit Court Clerk's office, William R. Crumbaugh of Cunningham agreed to the Commonwealth Attorney's suggested guilty plea to charges of manslaughter and tampering with evidence. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

In October of 2015, Kentucky State Police said 95-year-old Helen M. Adams of Melber was operating a riding lawn mower on the shoulder of KY Highway 1820, when it was struck from behind by a pickup truck driven by Crumbaugh. Adams was thrown from the mower and later died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Crumbaugh was arrested at the scene for DUI and other charges, including assault, which was later upgraded to a murder charge.
