The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a daytime work zone lane restriction along a section of U.S. 641 North in Marshall County has been set up to allow additional work on the Chestnut Creek Culvert.
The work began at around 10 a.m., and should last about four to six hours.
In early March, a contractor repaired damage to the culvert headwalls caused by a truck crash. Since then, another crash has damaged guardrail and the headwall on the culvert. The KYTC District 1 Bridge Crew will be working with the Marshall County Highway Maintenance Crew at the site to remove a section of the headwall and complete some additional repairs.
This work zone lane restriction with alternating flow controlled by flaggers is along U.S. 641 at the south edge of Draffenville about halfway between KY 58 and U.S. 68.
Drivers should use appropriate caution when approaching this area. Workers are following social distancing guidelines while continuing to maintain essential highway maintenance activities.
