Cunningham Man Drowns in Kentucky Lake

A Carlisle County man drowned in Kentucky Lake Saturday night. According to Marshall County Rescue Squad Chief Curt Curtner, two men were fishing on the lake around 7pm when one of the men fell into the water and didn't resurface.



According to witness statements, 68-year-old Grandville Joe Thomas of Cunningham fell out of the back of the boat and into the water near Sledd Creek Bay. Curtner said the accident may have been caused by a medical issue.



The Marshall County Rescue Squad and several other local agencies were called to the scene to help search for Thomas. His body was recovered around 12:15 Sunday morning.
