DEA Drug 'Takeback' April 27 in Benton
By West Kentucky Star Staff
BENTON, KY - The Benton Police Department is providing an opportunity on Saturday, April 27  for anyone to dispose of unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs.

The national Drug Enforcement Administration's drug take-back program collects these potentially dangerous prescriptions free and anonymously, with no questions asked, potentially lowering the chance for them to be misused or abused.

The collection will take place Saturday from 10 am until 2 pm at the Benton Walmart at 310 W. 5th Street. Liquids, needles or sharps will no be accepted - only pills and patches can be collected.

Over the past nine years, thousands of tons of these prescriptions have been collected and safely disposed of by using the drug take-back program. For more information about the disposal of prescription drugs or about the Take Back Day event, go to www.DEATakeBack.com.
