A spokesperson for Silver Trail Distillery says the owner is deeply grieved by the explosion and fire that destroyed the building and wounded two employees.

A statement posted early Saturday on the Distillery's Facebook page said the damage and injuries were caused by a "massive equipment failure." The statement said Second Distiller Jay Rogers & his Assistant Kyle Rogers suffered serious injuries & are being cared for at Vanderbilt Hospital.

The post asked for everyone to pray for Jay and Kyle, and for owner Spencer Balentine, "because his anguish & sorrow has not yet found its depth."

An account has been set up at CFSB Bank to help Jay and Kyle with expenses as they recover. In a separate post on Facebook, Balentine thanked everyone for their prayers and encouragement.

"In my darkest hours of the last two days from all over the country, you have lifted my spirit and humbled me with your outpouring of love and caring for Jay and Kyle. From the bottom of my heart - Thank You," Balentine said online.
