A Mayfield woman was arrested on drug charges early Friday morning.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office said a caller told them that her neighbor had come over and said that her boyfriend had beaten her up.

When the deputy arrived to the home on KY 58 East, Mary Smith reportedly told him she and her boyfriend, Eric Vancura had been in a verbal argument, but no one had been assaulted.

Deputies said there was no sign an assault had taken place, but they reportedly found drugs on Smith, which she attempted to destroy.

Smith was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
