Domestic Disturbance Call Leads to Meth Arrest
By West Kentucky Star Staff
MARSHALL COUNTY - A domestic disturbance call led to a drug arrest over the weekend in Marshall County.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says deputies received a call in reference to a domestic disturbance on Darnell Road. Upon arrival, deputies learned that 70-year-old John O. Jones, of Benton, had an active warrant out of McCracken County for failure to appear.

A deputy said she watched Jones look under his mattress and then put it down as soon as he saw her watching. When the deputy lifted up the mattress, she allegedly found a methamphetamine pipe along with a paper towel with meth inside it.

Deputies said Jones later admitted to smoking meth a few days prior.

Jones was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
