MAYFIELD - A man suspected of killing two family members in Laurel County, Kentucky has been taken into custody in Graves County.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office said 40-year-old Joseph Benge was arrested without incident Tuesday night at the Pocket's Shell Food Mart on Paducah Road in Mayfield.

Benge is accused of fatally shooting his parents, 69-year-old Johnny Benge and 66-year-old Mary Benge, at their home in London, KY. A family member found the couple dead on Tuesday and called police.

Benge fled the scene in his parents' white 2015 Ford Taurus, and a statewide manhunt ensued. A phone ping alerted authorities that Benge was 300 miles away in Mayfield.

Benge was taken into custody and then transported to the Laurel County Jail. He's  charged with two counts of murder, robbery and theft by unlawful taking.
