A Tennessee semi driver was hurt Thursday morning in a crash on Interstate 69.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to an overturned tractor-trailer crash near the 36-mile marker, just south of Benton.

The driver, Kyeshia McKinney of Shelbyville, TN, was traveling northbound on I-69 when McKinney lost control of the tractor-trailer and struck a guardrail. The semi then overturned onto its side.

A West KY Rural Electric vehicle drove up on the scene shortly after the accident and helped emergency responders lift the semi to help extricate McKinney from the vehicle.

McKinney was flown to Skyline Medical center in Nashville, TN with serious injuries.

The interstate was closed for several hours to allow for debris clean up.
