Drought Damage Help Available to Livestock Farmers

KEVIL, KY - The Ballard and McCracken County Farm Service Agency is currently signing up livestock farmers for financial assistance if their water supply has been depleted by the drought.

The Emergency Conservation Program drought program will reimburse farmers who have been forced to do temporary or permanent work to rehabilitate their wells, springs, troughs, tanks, or pipelines. and had expenses above $1,000. Those who qualify may be reimbursed between 50-75 percent of their expense.

Those who are interested in this program should visit the FSA office for details. The deadline to sign up is September 26, and reimbursement is subject to availability of funding.
