Marshall County and Calloway County officials will be holding a drug court graduation at the Calvert City Drive-In.

In a Friday press release, it was revealed that Circuit Judge Jamie Jameson and the staff of the Drug Courts for Marshall and Calloway Counties have set the date for this year's Drug Court graduation ceremony. The ceremony is set to take place on Thursday, June 4, at 8:15 p.m.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, instead of using a public building, the graduation will be held drive-in style at the Calvert City Drive-In theater on Highway 95 near Calvert City.

"At this time of mostly bad news on the television, our team wanted to let the community know that good things are still underway every day here in the fight against addiction. Our drug court team has never stopped working with our participants throughout this crisis. As a result, these men and women are ready to get back into life, sober, and happy," said Circuit Judge, Jamie Jameson.

The public is invited to come show support the members of our community as we celebrate their sobriety and reestablishment into society.

Drug Court is a court-ran two-year program which was developed by the Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) in an effort to address the growing addiction problem within the Commonwealth. Jameson serves voluntarily as the chief administrator of the Marshall and Calloway drug courts. Although Jameson serves as the chief administrator of both counties drug court program, the program is actually administrated by two separate county-specific panels which consist of representatives from Marshall and Calloway Sheriff's departments, probation and parole, the Commonwealth attorney's office, drug court staff, and a representative of the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy.
