Duck Dynasty Event at Graves County Cancelled

MAYFIELD, KY - A&E’s Duck Dynasty television stars’ planned appearance this Saturday night at Graves County High School has been cancelled, due to insufficient ticket sales, according to GCHS athletic director Doug Gloyd. Some of the stars of the show, Willie Robertson, his wife, Korie and their children, Sadie and John Luke, were scheduled to appear at the event.
“I am blessed that the Robertsons were willing to work with us and not allow us to take a loss on this event,” Gloyd said. “I have been successful with some of these events at Graves County. However, this one did not go over so well. We probably have done too many of these events in such a short period of time.”
A previous appearance by several of the show’s cast members was very successful, selling out the Eagles’ Nest Gymnasium earlier this year with far more than 4,000 spectators.
Gloyd said if you purchased tickets by credit card, those costs will be credited back to your card. If you purchased tickets through the athletic office, you can bring the tickets to Graves County High School before Oct. 5 and be given a refund. There will be no refunds after Oct. 5.
He said if you purchased a raffle ticket, there will be no refund because a prize package will still be awarded to the winner.
“I really hope people understand,” Gloyd said. “I understand if some people are disappointed. Trust me, nobody is more disappointed than I am.”
