ELKTON, KY - Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred early Thursday morning in Todd County.

Officers say 42-year-old Paul M. Hedge of Trenton and 52-year-old Roger D. Markwell of Lewisburg were both approaching the intersection of Ky 181 and Ky 848 at 6:15 am. Hedge had stopped, in preparation for a left turn onto Ky 181, and did not see the motorcycle that Markwell was driving, also in approach to the intersection.

Hedge continued his left turn, and the two collided.

Markwell was ejected from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene by Todd Coroner Bob Whittlesey. He was said to be wearing a helmet.

Hedge was not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
