LYON COUNTY - An Eddyville man was arrested on numerous charges after a pursuit and crash in Lyon County on Saturday.

At around 2:00 am, a Lyon County deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on US 641 for an alleged traffic violation, but the driver fled.

The deputy lost sight of the vehicle, but it was found several minutes later after two other drivers reported a single vehicle collision at the intersection of US 62, US 641, and KY 3305.

Deputies say the driver, 18-year-old Cameron Doles of Eddyville, lost control of the vehicle and hit a metal utility pole at a high rate of speed. Doles then fled on foot before he was picked up by someone and taken home.

He was later found at his home and detained with incident.

Over the course of their investigation, authorities learned the vehicle had been stolen.

Doles was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries then arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking under $10,000, leaving the scene of an accident, no driver's license, a tail light violation, and failure to dim headlights.

He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

Authorities say Doles was on bond for two other auto theft related offenses at the time of his arrest.
