Authorities in Lyon County are searching for a Chicago, IL man who is wanted for questioning in the death of an Eddyville woman.

Eddyville Police Officers and Lyon County Sheriff's Deputies responded Thursday afternoon to an address on Woodrow Street in Eddyville for a welfare check, during which they found an unresponsive elderly woman. Kentucky State Police Detectives were contacted for assistance and responded to the scene along with the Lyon County Coroner. The woman, who was identified as 68-year-old Nancy Minor of Eddyville, had sustained multiple blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Minor’s vehicle, a deep gray metallic 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, KY License Plate 873 ELG, was also missing from the scene (note: police originally stated the car was silver). Detectives say they believe the vehicle may be in the possession of Minor’s brother, 66-year-old Arthur A. Long of Chicago, IL.

KSP has obtained a warrant for Long for the charge of Theft by Unlawful Taking – Auto under $10,000 (Class D Felony).  Long is also wanted for questioning concerning the homicide investigation.

Long is a white male. He is 6'2" tall and weighs 210 pounds. He has brown eyes and gray hair.

Anyone with information on Long’s whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Brian Hill with the Kentucky State Police Post 1.  Detective Hill may be contacted at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555.
