UPDATE: 6:06 pm - According to KSP, Clark was apprehended Thursday evening in Providence, KY.

Earlier Story:

Kentucky State Police are investigating the escape of a Graves County inmate who they say walked away from his work release detail on Thursday afternoon.

According to KSP, Troopers were notified by State Highway workers just after noon Thursday when 23-year-old William Clark failed to return from the restroom at a state highway maintenance facility on Crittenden Drive in Mayfield.  Troopers and deputies with the Graves County Sheriff’s office searched the immediate area with no success.

At around 3:30 pm, a stolen vehicle in the same area was reported to KSP. Police said they believe Clark stole the vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet pickup with Jays Electric written on both doors.

Clark is a white male standing 5’3” tall and weighing 145 pounds. He has short brown hair with a light complexion. He was incarcerated for theft, burglary, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Anyone with information about Clark is asked to call KSP at 270-856-3721, or any law enforcement agency.
