Firefighters were called to Mermie Road in Pirate’s Cove just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday and despite working to extinguish the flames, the home was a total loss. Early Monday morning, the fire rekindled again sparking another call-out for emergency responders, and another hot spot erupted Monday evening, prompting another call.
The family of Jason and Amy Lee and their children managed to escape the home, and were not hurt. One thing that did survive the fire was the couples marriage certificate.
