KSP Seeks Suspect in Kevil Bank Robbery

UPDATE: The Kentucky State Police continue to search for a suspect in the robbery of the First Community Bank in Kevil.

According to KSP, they have a warrant for 25-year-old Haywood Jones of Paducah. Jones is described as a black male, 5-feet-6-inches and 160 pounds. KSP believe he may driving a white Ford Crown Victoria with temporary tags and possibly in the Cairo, IL area.

The Toyota Avalon was found on Thursday by KSP.

First Community Bank in Kevil was robbed Wednesday morning, and the suspect is still at large.

Multiple police units responded around noon to the bank on the corner of U.S. Highway 60 and New Liberty Church Road.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

McCracken County Sheriff Jon Hayden said he and several deputies were notified of the crime, and responded to assist. He said they helped search the area north of the bank toward Kevil City Hall.

KSP Trooper Jay Thomas said a man with a handgun came into the First Community Bank in Kevil around noon Wednesday.

The suspect was described as a white male standing about 6 feet tall, wearing camo pants and a black hoodie. Police said he was armed with a handgun. Thomas said the suspect was driving a late 90s to early 2000s slate blue Toyota Avalon. The car reportedly has a sunroof, damage to the front passenger side and is missing a hubcap on the rear passenger side.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
